DHS maps industrial control system evaluation tool to cyber framework

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Department of Homeland Security has mapped its cybersecurity assessment tool for industrial control systems to the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s framework of cybersecurity standards, according to a federal security official.

During Wednesday's Chemical Sector Security Summit — a collaboration between DHS and the Chemical Sector Coordinating Council — Jeff Gray, an Industrial Control Systems Computer Emergency Response Team official, said version 6 of ICS-CERT’s cybersecurity evaluation tool incorporates the NIST framework.
