Zscaler report finds increase in cyber attacks against Internet of Things devices targeting energy sector

The energy sector is facing a surge of cyber attacks impacting Internet of Things devices and operational technology systems, according to a report from cyber firm Zscaler exploring trends in the malware threat landscape.

“Notably, the energy sector experienced a substantial 387 percent increase in attacks compared to the previous year, highlighting an escalating threat to critical infrastructure and greater exploitation of vulnerabilities within these essential industries,” the report from Zscaler ThreatLabz says.
