Alliance for Digital Innovation seeks two-month extension for comments on Pentagon’s CMMC proposed rule

The Alliance for Digital Innovation is asking the Defense Department to provide a 60-day extension on the comment period for its proposed rule to implement the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program.

The Pentagon announced major changes to the CMMC program in November 2021 and issued a long-awaited proposed rule to implement them on Dec. 26. The 234-page rulemaking outlines the Pentagon’s process for assessments, CMMC ecosystem roles and the flow down of CMMC requirements through the supply chain.
