FIDO Alliance provides guidance for deploying authentication service in federal agencies

The Fast Identity Online (FIDO) Alliance has released guidance aimed at increasing adoption of authentication services across the federal government.

The white paper published on Oct. 13 provides “guidance on implementation of FIDO credentials within the federal digital identity ecosystem, and other deployment considerations and recommendations.”

The FIDO Alliance is an “open industry association” focused on developing technical specifications for authentication. FIDO authentication is a standard that provides “phishing-resistant security,” according to the white paper.
