Government reveals path forward to harmonize security requirements for unclassified systems

New cyber requirements for unclassified federal information systems operated by contractors are now public in a proposed rule issued today to amend the government’s federal acquisition regulation.

The proposed rule is a requirement from President Biden’s 2021 cyber executive order and indicates, along with a second rule issued today on info-sharing, how the government will move forward with establishing formal cyber regulations for federal contractors.
