NIST outlines proposed updates to foundational publication for handling controlled unclassified information

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is offering a preview into upcoming changes to its foundational guide for organizations handling sensitive federal data.

The agency issued a pre-draft call for comments in July to inform its work to update the 800-171 series on controlled unclassified information and put out a four-page analysis of comments received in November.
