Industry stakeholders see regulatory duplication in SEC’s proposal on cybersecurity

A Securities and Exchange Commission proposal that would set new cybersecurity reporting requirements for publicly traded companies is seen by some stakeholders as a positive sign of SEC attention to cyber issues, while others are concerned about a wide expansion of regulation and possible duplication of functions being performed by other federal agencies.
