Pentagon’s $10.4B cyber budget seeks to grow Cyber Mission Force, implement zero trust

The Biden administration is requesting $10.4 billion in fiscal 2022 for the Defense Department's cyberspace activities, including four new teams for the Cyber Mission Force, zero trust technology investments, and efforts to remediate vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure and the defense industrial base.

The fiscal 2022 request includes $5.6 billion for cybersecurity, $4.3 billion for cyber operations, and $500 million for “advanced cyber related research and development activities.” The total ask is a relative bump above the $9.8 billion the Pentagon...
