NIST to adapt supply chain risk management framework with precursors, critical success factors

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is working on an update to its foundational publication for supply chain risk management that will attempt to harmonize the different existing practices at departments and agencies, according to an agency supply chain leader.

NIST started collecting data from agencies in October 2019 to update Special Publication 800-161 and found that there was a need to develop “precursors” that will aid in the implementation of supply chain risk management best practices.
