NIST officials stress intersection of privacy and security, despite plan for separate framework cores

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is emphasizing the important connection between data security and privacy, while having recently proposed two distinct approaches for managing those risks by offering revisions to a draft privacy framework that would have separate “core functions” from the agency's landmark cybersecurity framework, according to agency officials.
