Virginia Gov. McAuliffe signs bill advancing ‘5G’ technology, Internet of Things

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) has signed into law a bill that would accelerate deployment of 5G wireless networks across the state, creating new considerations for cybersecurity and catalyzing deployment of the Internet of Things.

McAuliffe on Thursday signed the bill to accelerate deployment of “small cell” infrastructure that will support next-generation 5G wireless networks and allow states to more quickly roll out “smart” infrastructure.
