Trump picks former DOE, NSC official Plankey for CISA director

Sean Plankey is President Trump’s pick to become the next director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, according to a formal list of nominees sent to the Senate today to start the confirmation process.

Plankey was Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security and Emergency Response in Trump’s first term. CESER is part of the Energy Department and serves as the sector risk management agency for the energy sector.
