Supreme Court extends filing deadline for CareFirst customers in landmark data-breach case

Lawyers representing a class-action lawsuit against healthcare giant CareFirst have been granted an extension to Jan. 2 for responding to the company's petition that the Supreme Court overturn a circuit ruling that victims of a data breach need only show the potential for harm in seeking compensation.
