Sens. Peters, Lankford introduce bill to establish ONCD-led interagency committee focused on harmonizing cyber regulations

Senate Homeland Security Chairman Gary Peters (D-MI) and Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) have introduced legislation focused on harmonizing cyber regulatory requirements across federal agencies through the creation of an interagency committee led by the Office of the National Cyber Director.

“The bipartisan Streamlining Federal Cybersecurity Regulations Act would address the challenges associated with multiple regulatory regimes by establishing an interagency Harmonization Committee at the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD),” according to a release from Peters. The bill...
