Senate spending bill slashes funding for NIST, but makes cyber a priority

A fiscal 2018 spending measure recently approved by the Senate Appropriations Committee cuts funding for the National Institute of Standards and Technology, although the committee says in accompanying report language that the funding structure for the agency makes NIST’s cybersecurity mission a priority.
