Senate panel advances Coker nomination for national cyber director to floor vote

The Senate Homeland Security Committee voted 8-2 today to advance the nomination of Harry Coker to become the next national cyber director for a vote on the chamber floor.

Committee Chairman Gary Peters (D-MI) highlighted Coker’s “commitment to advancing national security” at the business meeting. The panel held a nomination hearing for Coker on Nov. 2, where the nominee emphasized his commitment to collaborating with industry and other agencies.
