Sen. Peters looks for sponsors on push for cyber regulatory harmonization bill before formal reintroduction

Senate Homeland Security ranking member Gary Peters (D-MI) is working to find potential co-sponsors to support the reintroduction of a cyber regulatory harmonization bill to create an interagency committee at the Office of the National Cyber Director tasked with developing a reciprocity framework.

Peters first introduced the bill in July 2024 with Sen. James Lankford (R-OK). The legislation is focused on reducing the compliance burden on industry and will require independent regulators to be part of the discussion. The...
