SBOM advocate calls on Trump administration to build supply chain expertise at contract level through workforce training

The Trump administration should boost Software Bill of Materials adoption through educating contracting officials on supply chain transparency, according to Exiger senior vice president for cyber supply chain JC Herz, instead of introducing compliance hurdles through new regulations.

“This is all business process. It does not require any additional regulatory oomph,” Herz told Inside Cybersecurity, highlighting a need for “domain expertise in the agencies” to drive the inclusion of SBOM in contracts.
