Open source group publishes baseline security guidance for developers incorporating widely used standards

The Open Source Security Foundation has launched a framework for software developers to build a baseline of security into their products in line with widely used standards including the NIST Secure Software Development Framework.

“The Baseline initiative provides a structured set of security requirements aligned with international cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations, aiming to bolster the security posture of open source software projects,” OpenSSF said today in a press release announcing the new framework.
