OMB formally establishes policy for Federal Acquisition Security Council empowered to ban risky products

The Office of Management and Budget has issued a final rule detailing the operations, process and decision making procedures for the Federal Acquisition Security Council, defining the roles and responsibilities of a new executive branch interagency organization to evaluate supply chain risk and potentially order removal of suspect products from government networks.

The interim final rule has three subparts and fulfills the requirements of SECURE Technology Act, which established the new body in 2018.
