NIST releases draft update to Domain Name System guide with new cyber functionalities

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has released a draft update to guidance on implementing secure solutions for directing network and internet traffic, with new details on security functions that can be achieved through the Domain Name System.

“NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-81r3 (Revision 3), Secure Domain Name System (DNS) Deployment Guide, describes the different roles of DNS and gives recommendations for protecting the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of DNS services,” NIST says in an April 10 bulletin....
