NIST plans to release ‘pre-call’ for comments on controlled unclassified information publications in 2022

The National Institute of Standards and Technology this year will issue a “pre-call” for public comments on updates to four publications concerning the security of controlled unclassified information.

Based on those comments, NIST will release a draft of NIST Special Publication 800-171 Rev. 3 and will continue in a phased approach to make changes to assessment procedures guide Special Publication 800-171A, Special Publication 800-172 which provides “enhanced security requirements” for high value assets, and its corresponding Special Publication 800-172A.
