NIST eyes summer release of first post-quantum cryptography draft standards

The National Institute of Standards and Technology aims to release draft standards of three selected post-quantum cryptography algorithms by early August, according to NIST’s Matthew Scholl.

“We are now wrapping up our first set of standards … and submitting them to the Federal Register” for review, Scholl said during a Wednesday meeting of NIST’s Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board. Scholl serves as the Information Technology Laboratory’s computer security division chief.
