NIST announces secure software development consortium mandated by Trump cyber EO, releases first draft publication

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has formally debuted a consortium dedicated to secure software development to fulfill a directive from President Trump’s June 6 cyber executive order, along with publishing a draft guide for public comment.

The Software Supply Chain and DevOps Security Practices Consortium builds on a project under NIST’s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence started in 2022 to test out concepts in the NIST Secure Software Development Framework.
