NERC emphasizes need to boost cybersecurity workforce for bulk power systems

The North American Electric Reliability Corporation addresses the need to bolster the cyber workforce to mitigate evolving threats in the electricity sector in a report identifying cybersecurity risks and priority areas for bulk power systems.

“BPS infrastructure continues to grow rapidly with new facilities, services, and technology integrations. This rapid expansion is increasing the cyber attack surface and raising the potential of grid-impacting coordinated attacks,” the report says.
