Manufacturing group asks CISA for refocus of bad practices guide on ways to improve product security

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency should rework its product security bad practices guide from focusing on security shortcomings to identify positive steps for cyber in the development process, according to the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.

“NEMA encourages CISA to complement industry-tailored and cross-sector initiatives that bolster cybersecurity through the promotion of identified ‘best practices,’ rather than through overly broad and counter-productive ‘bad practices,’” the manufacturing association says in comments submitted to CISA on Monday.
