Langevin touts FDA cyber guide as model for addressing Internet of Things security

Congressional Cybersecurity Caucus co-chairman James Langevin (D-RI) says the Food and Drug Administration’s approach to addressing cybersecurity in medical devices could be used in other sectors to mitigate cyber threats to various Internet of Things devices.

During Forum Global’s Internet of Things Summit today in Washington, DC, Langevin said the process FDA used in developing postmarket cybersecurity guidelines for medical devices is an effective approach to addressing IoT threats in a collaborative, non-regulatory way.
