House passes FedRAMP bill designed to address concerns from Senate lawmakers

The House has passed new legislation to codify the General Services Administration’s FedRAMP program, designed to align with the Senate proposal advanced in a March cyber package and changes requested by the White House.

The bill, H.R.8956, “FedRAMP Authorization Act,” is sponsored by House Oversight government operations subcommittee Chairman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and full committee ranking member James Comer (R-KY). This is the third time the House has advanced FedRAMP legislation during the current legislative session.
