House intelligence panel weighs in on offensive cyber operations for deterrence

The United States should focus on developing and demonstrating offensive cyber capabilities to deter nation-state actors from targeting U.S. critical infrastructure with cyber attacks, according to Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX).

“Our adversaries have no problem...infiltrating our critical infrastructure through cyber means. They have no problem attacking civilian critical infrastructure,” Crenshaw said to intelligence community leaders who testified Tuesday in front of the House Intelligence Committee.
