House Homeland Security panel bolsters cyber-incident teams at wide-ranging markup

The House Homeland Security Committee unanimously approved legislation intended to bolster cyber-incident response teams, by allowing the Department of Homeland Security to call on private-sector specialists to help critical infrastructure owners and operators recover from a cyber attack.

The committee approved H.R. 5074, the Cyber Incident Response Teams Act, without amendment as part of a markup on Wednesday dealing with 10 separate bills on issues ranging from aviation to surface transportation security.
