House Homeland Security advances bills to authorize CISA 2015 law, extend cyber grant program for state and local governments

The House Homeland Security Committee has unanimously approved a bill to reauthorize the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 for 10 years, with changes to the name of the law and new language on artificial intelligence and enhancing protections.

The 2015 cyber info-sharing law has changed the “cybersecurity landscape forever for the better,” Chairman Andrew Garbarino (R-NY) said during a Sept. 3 markup of the Widespread Information Management for the Welfare of Infrastructure and Government Act.
