House appropriators advance fiscal 2026 Commerce Dept. budget bill with funding for NIST

The House Appropriations Committee has approved in a 34-28 vote a fiscal 2026 spending bill for the Commerce Department, including $1.28 billion to support the National Institute of Standards and Technology with a focus on vulnerability disclosure and artificial intelligence work.
