House Appropriations chair postpones fiscal 2024 DHS spending bill markup amid debt ceiling talks

House Appropriations Chairwoman Kay Granger (R-TX) is postponing the scheduled markup of the fiscal 2024 DHS budget bill, as discussions continue between the White House and lawmakers on the debt ceiling.

“Given recent developments in the negotiations between Speaker McCarthy and the President, and in order to give the Speaker maximum flexibility as talks continue, the Committee will postpone this week’s markups,” Granger said in a statement at midnight Monday.
