Free speech advocates push 'Digital Standard' to mitigate IoT risks, botnet attacks

New America's Open Technology Institute is touting the development of an “open source” standard on baseline security requirements for Internet of Things devices -- a tool aimed at the increasing number of companies designing connected consumer products without experience in digital security.
