Former Education Dept. cyber official praises FTC complaint against tech provider, while raising concerns over kids privacy legislation
The Federal Trade Commission’s case against tech provider Illuminate Education is a positive step in holding accountable companies that are selling tech services to school districts, according to a former Department of Education official, who also expressed concerns over potential changes to enforcement as lawmakers consider legislation on child privacy issues.
