Federal contracting group seeks closer alignment of NIST CUI publication with other cyber procurement requirements

The Professional Services Council wants NIST to consider how to align the standards agency’s foundational guidance on handling controlled unclassified information with other cyber procurement requirements including the Pentagon’s cyber certification program.

“NIST should take additional steps to align SP 800-171 with other procurement-related cybersecurity guidance and, where practicable, release all updated documents as a suite,” PSC says in recent comments to NIST on the first draft of NIST Special Publication 800-171 Rev. 3.
