FCC's Wheeler details Internet of Things security strategy, role of interagency forum

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Thomas Wheeler has laid out a new strategy to address cybersecurity threats to the Internet of Things, calling upon an interagency cybersecurity forum to coordinate regulatory approaches around IoT cyber risk.

In a letter to Congress dated Dec. 2, Wheeler outlines a multifaceted strategy leveraging voluntary stakeholder engagement, interagency partnerships, and regulatory activities to manage cyber threats posed by the Internet of Things.
