FCC sets up January votes on foreign ownership, disclosure rulemakings in context of national security

The Federal Communications Commission will consider two national security proceedings at a Jan. 29 meeting seeking to understand the foreign ownership of communications license operators and address disclosure rules for broadcast carriers.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr called both rulemakings an opportunity for “building on some of the important national security wins the FCC delivered last year,” in a Jan. 7 blog announcing the meeting agenda.
