FCC opens investigation into geolocation data held by mobile carriers, citing privacy concerns

FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel is directing the commission’s Enforcement Bureau to open an investigation into how mobile carriers are retaining consumer geolocation data and associated privacy issues, following a request for information asking companies to detail their current practices.
