FCC advisory council announces working group tasks for mitigating software vulnerabilities, Open RAN security

The Federal Communications Commission’s re-charted security advisory council announced six areas of focus and specific tasks for the next two years at a meeting Tuesday, including an exploration of managing software and cloud services supply chain vulnerabilities and a deep dive into Open Radio Access Networks.

The Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council VIII will be split into six working groups to explore different elements of 5G security. The council is co-chaired by Verizon’s Nasrin Rezai and Billy Bob Brown...
