Eshoo bill requires development of ‘baseline’ cyber practices based on NIST framework

A bipartisan House bill directing federal agencies to develop voluntary “baseline” cyber best practices for government, industry, and consumers calls for consistency with the federal framework of cybersecurity standards while directing the Department of Homeland Security to assess emerging threats from the Internet of Things.
