Energy Dept. announces prize competition for small utilities as part of rural and municipal cyber program

The Department of Energy is offering a prize pool of $8.96 million in cash and technical assistance for small utilities, the first in a series of prizes available through the Rural and Municipal Utility Cybersecurity Program established under the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

The Advanced Technology for Cybersecurity 1 Prize was launched on Aug. 30, as part of the larger RMUC program that will provide $250 million over five years to enhance cyber operations at small utilities.
