Electric group seeks to preserve vendor diversity under software supply chain proposal in TSA cyber rules

The Edison Electric Institute argues the Transportation Security Administration's software supply chain requirements for surface transport entities under a proposed cyber rule are too prescriptive and could impact the willingness of vendors to work with operators in the energy sector.

“EEI members seek to maintain flexibility that allows owners and operators to apply scrutiny to vendors commensurate with the risk they represent without overburdening the owner/operator or vendor,” EEI says in a Feb. 5 filing to TSA.
