Edison Electric Institute supports FERC incentives proposal, offers changes on maintaining qualified investment list

The Edison Electric Institute is largely supportive of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s proposal to offer incentives for utilities that voluntarily invest in improving their cybersecurity, while offering changes to update the pre-qualified list as new threats develop.

“EEI appreciates the Commission’s recognition of the need for greater cybersecurity protections in light of evolving and ever-present threats and the role that incentives can play to elevate the level of cybersecurity and preparedness, commensurate with company-specific needs and risks,” EEI said...
