DHS' Manfra: EU's GDPR could hamper cyber info-sharing; botnet report sent to White House

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Jeanette Manfra acknowledged today that the European Union data regulation going into effect this week could hamper industry sharing of cyber-threat indicators with the U.S. government, but said it will take time to assess the true impacts as the EU implements the landmark requirements.

“How they define a piece of privacy information” will determine the impact of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation going into effect on Friday, Manfra said at the Georgetown Cybersecurity...
