Critical infrastructure advisory panel calls for national cyber assessment of electrical systems

The President’s National Infrastructure Advisory Council is proposing a CISA-led assessment led of cybersecurity needs for the electrical sector, as part of a new draft report that identifying challenges with critical infrastructure in the electric sector.

The report will be considered at a NIAC meeting today following a presentation from the electrification subcommittee. A draft version of the report published on Friday provides details on how cyber should fit into efforts to secure the electric grid.
