Commerce Dept. issues supply chain security rule impacting foreign transactions for ICT sector

The Commerce Department has issued an interim final rule identifying six countries subject to review for information and communications technology transactions and starting a rulemaking process to develop processes and procedures to make determinations.

The rule is intended to “address the national security, economic security, and public health and safety concerns related to ICTS Transactions,” the Commerce Department said today in a news release. The text of the rule has not been made public.
