CISA launches two resources for ransomware vulnerability warning pilot initiative

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is introducing two resources as part of its pilot program to warn stakeholders of vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and weaknesses known to be exploited by ransomware actors.

CISA formally announced the Ransomware Vulnerability Warning Pilot launch in March, after beginning work on the initiative in January. In a Thursday blog post, CISA says the program has successfully “initiated notifications for over 800 vulnerable systems identified having internet-accessible vulnerabilities commonly associated with known ransomware campaigns.”
