NIST to release updated version of guidelines on personal identity verification 'early next year'

The National Institute of Standards and Technology's National Cybersecurity Center for Excellence plans to release an updated version of its draft publication on personal identity issues “early next year,” a NIST official told Inside Cybersecurity Thursday.

Special Publication 1800-12 on derived personal identity verification credentials was released Sep. 29, with a comment period that closed late last month. The NIST official said that NIST would not be releasing the comments to the public.
