NHTSA extends deadline for comment on self-driving car guidelines

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Tuesday announced that it is extending the deadline for public comment on proposed guidelines on deployment and operation of autonomous vehicles that would address privacy and cybersecurity.

NHTSA will accept written comments until May 31, following collection of comments during two meetings in Washington and Silicon Valley. The original deadline for public comments was May 9, but stakeholders requested more time to provide feedback, according to NHTSA’s Federal Register...
